Finding Toner Cartridges Recycling Programs
What do you do with your old toner cartridges? Hopefully you do not throw them in the garbage. Many people don’t realize how easy it really is to recycle toner cartridges and ink cartridges. In fact, many companies and businesses run their own recycling programs to encourage their consumers to be friendly to the environment.
When you recycle your toner cartridges, a third party company gets them eventually. That company will hire professionals to clean off the cartridges and repair the broken cartridges. Then the company concocts an ink formula and fills the old cartridges with their unique ink formula. After the cartridges has been cleaned off, repaired and refilled with ink, it is then repackaged and resold to the consumer.
However, these remanufactured cartridges are sold for a lot less than it did brand new. Since the cartridges is not direct from the original manufacturer, there were no raw parts that needed to be ordered. This factors into the low cost of the cartridges. Plus, there is little mark-up for these remanufactured cartridges because there is no brand power behind the product. So by the time these remanufactured products reach the shelves and are sold to the consumer, they often cost less than half the price of the original OEM version.
To participate in a recycling program, you can drop off your old cartridges to a local retailer in your area. However, if you find it inconvenient to drive to this store every time you are finished using a cartridges, it could be annoying. An alternative would be to participate in a recycling program that is sponsored by an online retailer. That means that you simply send in your used cartridges at your own convenience via the postal service or any other delivery service.
